Deviation Actions

I stood in front of the cave, and I let out a sharp breath, the mist of the action drifting in front of my face briefly. I considered my options. I could sneak into the cave and attempt to silently eliminate whatever creature was inside, or I could make my presence known.

"Ah, to Hell with it." I sighed, while zipping up my jacket. I choked down on the grip of my Nail Bat, raised my head high, and howled a grim warning to whatever beast lay hidden in the Cave. My voice bounced around the inside of Evil's Den and ricocheted back into my ears. With one more, demonic, roar of terror, I charged headlong into the cave.

The beam of my flashlight bounced around the small, tight quarters of the cave, but still illuminated the path ahead. As I ran forward, I felt my war-cry inspired feeling beginning to diminish.

Until I reached a new opening.

This part of the cave was wide, spacious. Gently filled with water. The area around me was illuminated by strange cocoons attached to the walls, which gave off a bright, yellow hue. I motioned my hand to click off my Flashlight- C-Cell batteries ain't cheap. As I looked around this interior, I was suddenly struck in the back by something blunt and hard. Ignoring the likely-bruise-causing pain, I span around and ducked underneath the swing of a small, strange creature.

The monster itself was covered in a strange, almost amniotic fluid. It had bones jutting out from underdeveloped arms, that curved downward like a Praying Mantis's pincers. It's entire lower body was like a flesh-mangled snake, and it's head was basically just a pair of jaws. I gripped my bat tight, and I readied myself. As the creature lashed out again, I smacked away it's claws and smashed a rising bat strike into the underside of it's jaw, sinking the nails deep within. The creature, almost immediately, dropped dead. I pulled my nails out from it with a sickening splish, and was immediately surrounded by the noise of shredding and ripping. I looked around, and noticed that the flesh cocoons in this cavern were all hatching creatures of similar quality to the beast I had just slain.

I planted one boot on the body of my foe, raised my head high, puffed out my chest, tightened my core, and let out an all-powerful command of battle. My combat cry echoed throughout the rest of the caverns, the shrill dimensions of the place making my powerful roar into a thundering reverberation, the likes of which I had never let fly from the pit of my lungs. I choked down on the grip of my bat and smashed the ground, while beginning to use my body language to taunt the creatures as they appeared.

One came from behind, flinging it's claws outward. I ducked underneath and swept it's legs clean out from under it. I span almost completely, while raising up my bat. As I crouched to add momentum to my attack, the nails on the end of my weapon cut through the air itself, until they finally smashed through the monster's open jaw, crushing it nearly completely with a disgusting crack. The monster's death wail could not compare to my Howl, and I pounded one fist on my chest as a salute to it's pleasant demise. Rising from the crouch I had brought myself to from that attack, I brought an undercutting sweep of my weapon into the snakelike pelvis of the next beast.

I let out a grunt through my gritted teeth, and span around again, bringing another sweeping blow up and into the beast's bent-over face, sending it sprawling backwards, landing in a ball behind it. My peripheral vision told me that the other beasts were converging- But I was not done with the one I just Cocksmashed. Choking down on my Bat, I began to do a strafing run, staggering side to side, like a Brute Chieftain from the Halo games, chasing someone with a Gravity Hammer. As I finally closed the distance, I locked my target- Who was defending it's face with it's claws- hopped, and brought an ungodly crushing blow through the creature's defense and into it's skull. I let out yet another powerful Battle Cry, and cackled almost maniacally at the end of it.

My heart beat against my ribcage, and my entire body shook with anticipation. The other beasts seemed rather hesitant to approach me. I decided to re-instate that feeling with another, powerful, monstrous shout of battle, which clamored through the interior of the cavern and shook the very water we were fighting in. The beasts seemed to slide back- They were clearly frightened, if only a little bit. I took this momentary lapse of weakness to quickly slip my hand to my belt and pull one of my Throwing Knives, which glided through the air toward the creature closest to me. I didn't calculate my throw, however- This was merely a distraction. As the blunt handle of the blade hit the creature in the ribs, I bounded forward and smashed a horizontal, sweeping swing into the monster's ribcage. I tried to pull my Bat from it's body, but it was no good. Instead, I simply let go and kicked the struggling beast down. It was finished.

As it flopped around in the water, I unsheathed my Machete from my back and squared off with the second-to-last creature. It seemed more confident than it's brethren, and it took an Adder-like approach to attacking me. It slithered side to side, flexing it's jaw open and closed, hissing and clearly preparing it's pincers for attack. At this point, I had one of two options- I could either concentrate a powerful strike to it's lower body, stunning it enough to allow me an attack, or completely go berserk and just start hacking and slashing.

Deciding upon a mix of those two options, I stepped back as the creature performed it's first slash, and primed my leg. As it's second swing went off- A high, horizontal, sweeping motion- I ducked, sprang back up, span around, and launched a brutal Tornado Kick into it's ribs, sending it keeling to it's side. With the concentrated force keeping it stunned momentarily, I launched my whole body forward, moved my legs in a scissor-like motion, and cracked one of my knees into it's chin, causing it to fall backward into the water. I stood on top of it, still tightly clutching my Machete. I raised my weapon high and brought a destructive blow down to the top of it's head, ending it's wretched life once and for all.

As I recovered from that scuffle, I looked around, and noticed the last "Death Adder" was trying to flee. I left my Machete embedded into my former foe and drew my Trench Knife. As the creature slithered toward the moonlit exit, I quickly ran up and performed a flying Bronco Kick- or, a double-legged flying Curb Stomp- to it's slithering, snaky tail. This stopped the creature for a second, and I proceeded to slam my full mass into a football tackle into the Adder's back, flaying it out upon the ground. I held it still with my Knee in it's back, reached forward, grabbed it's face and held it open. I raised my knife high and brought it streaming down, rightously ending the creature's life with a hiss-silencing slisshtfff.

I pulled my knife free, and retreated back into the cavern. I removed my Machete from one of the Adder's skulls, and cleaned the blood off in the slowly-reddening Cave Water. Sheathing it, I pulled my nails out from between the ribs of the unsuspecting Adder, and retrieved my Nail Bat. I head out to the entrance of the cave. I took one last look behind me, right before I left.

Without another word, I exhaled, and began my walk back to Ponyville.
